On February 22, 2020, GMC Luzon extended relief to Taal Volcano eruption victims, as the calamity affected and disrupted the lives of those who live close to it. In coordination with the Local Social Welfare Development Office of the Municipality of Balete, Batangas, around 100 families/evacuees were identified as recipients of the relief goods, which included hygiene kits, rice, formula milk, coffee, canned goods, bottled water, and usable clothing.
20 Luzon Genmillers volunteered for the activity and went to Batangas to hand out the relief goods. The positive and joyous atmosphere was evident after the goods were handed out.
In all, the relief effort was successful and has re-affirmed the company’s commitment to live up to its social responsibility to the community.
