GMC Cebu plants 3,500 Mangrove Seedlings

Jun 7, 2022 | CSR Stories

In partnership with the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Lapu-Lapu City,   Genmiller volunteers  engaged in a Mangrove Planting Activity last May 14, 2022, at Brgy. Tungasan, Olango Island. About sixty (60) Genmiller volunteers planted about 3,500 mangrove seedlings in the shorelines of the island. The mangrove planting activity has been a regular engagement of General Milling Corporation, in line with its commitment to make sustainable improvements in the community it operates in. Healthy mangrove ecosystems help reinforce shorelines, protect water quality and provide a healthy environment for fishers and farmers who depend on their natural environment for their livelihood.

The mangrove planting activity was also a great opportunity for Genmillers to bond  together, have fun, and make a difference in the protection and preservation of our environment.
