As part of the company’s employee wellness initiatives, Luzon GenMillers were given the opportunity to learn about oral health care.
On March 15, 2024, an online lecture entitled “Oral Health Care: Good Health begins with a Healthy Mouth” was conducted in time for Oral Health Month. Dr. Cliffton Kim C. Sesbreño, President of the Sorsogon Dental Chapter, was invited to serve as the resource speaker, and talked about the effects of oral health to the employees’ overall health and well-being. He emphasized that having a bad dental health can result in a number of physical problems, infections, and mouth diseases, as well as pain and discomfort which, in turn, lowers productivity and increases absenteeism. Dr. Sesbreño went on to say that many businesses often neglect oral health as an important component of employee health and wellness, hence, GMC employees were fortunate to have been given the seminar as a way of promoting oral health.
Throughout the lecture, GenMillers actively engaged with the resource speaker, demonstrating interest and willingness to really learn about the subject. Several employees took part in the Q&A session before wrapping up the activity.
